8 Skin & Makeup Empties: Purchase or Pass?

Quick and simple post today! Since March is coming to an end, I wanted to share eight products that I’ve recently used up. Some I plan to purchase again and others I’ll definitely pass on. Direct links for each product are included so you can take a closer look at each.

1. Shiseido Facial Cotton

You know…sometimes I really wish I didn’t buy these. I mean you can buy cotton rounds for less than $5 and get a ton included in one package. I will say that these are by far the best I’ve ever used, so it’s hard to use anything else. The cotton is so soft and gentle, but is extremely durable. They hold up well with just about any liquid skin care product and don’t shed. I literally can take off my makeup with using just one. It’s definitely a luxurious purchase at $12 for 165 sheets. But, it’s well worth it. Trust me you will love them! #purchase

2. Glossier Cherry Balm Dotcom

This lip balm is definitely a cult favorite. I honestly wasn’t that impressed. Maybe it was the flavor I chose. I’m unsure, but I found myself having to reapply product very often. My lips would usually feel very dry in between reapplying versus feeling hydrating. I also noticed the balm made my lips peel a little. One good thing about this product is the sheer red tint it provides. I liked using it if I was in a rush and wanted a little color added to my lips. I still want to try other Glossier products, but Balm Dotcom won’t be one of them. #pass

3. Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

Hands down…my fave setting spray. Whenever I use this my makeup last all day! I’ve used this for years and is my go-to in the summer. Since I don’t use this daily, the mini size usually last me a long time. #purchase

4. Cerave SA Lotion for Rough & Bumpy Skin

For some reason on my calves and on the back of my arms, I get dry patchy skin at times. This lotion has helped smooth and soften these areas. It has hyaluronic, saclicylic, and lactic acid which are great ingredients for exfoliation and locking in moisture.  I rarely find it in stores, so usually order online. #purchase

5. Tarte Tinted Brow Gel

I love Tarte cosmetics but this brow gel did not do it for me. I’m thinking it’s better for people that have a naturally fuller brow and shape. This product would easily add a nice tint and fullness to brows that are thicker. Me on the other hand, I have very sparse brows. So I found myself having to use a pencil or powder and, then using this on top. But, who has time for all of that! I really wanted a brow gel that I could use when I’m in a hurry or just don’t feel like the whole brow process. #pass

6. The Body Shop Shea Shower Cream

This shower cream was perfect during the winter. It didn’t dry my skin out after using and left my skin feeling silky. A little goes a long way with this body wash, and the texture is very creamy. I don’t like really intense floral scents, so the light shea butter scent was perfect. I plan to try another shower cream from The Body Shop this summer, but will definitely pick this up again in the fall. #purchase

7. Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser

This is a great exfoliating, foaming cleanser. I used this 2-3 times per week and saw a noticeable difference in my skin tone. The cleanser helped to get rid of dead skin and reveal a fresh look. Even though I was pleased with is cleanser, there are other glycolic face washes that I want to try. If you are new to using a glycolic cleanser, this would be a great one to start with. #purchase

8. Nair Shea Butter

This is an oldie, but goodie! I’m sure there are mixed reviews about using Nair, but I think it gets the job done. I’ve learned that I absolutely hate the pain from waxing and the bumps that shaving can sometimes leave behind. When I want smooth skin in a hurry, this is my go-to. I love the smooth finish and usually apply my favorite scented body oil after using. #purchase

There you have it, my March empties. Stay tuned for more product empties and whether you should purchase or pass!
