3 Tips to Help You Stick to Your Skincare Routine

3 Tips to Help You Stick to Your Skincare Routine

It’s one thing to have an amazing skincare routine planned out and another to actually stick to it. It’s not like you gave up on your skin goals along the line. It’s just one night you were too tired, another morning you forgot, and so it goes. To reach your desired skincare goal, you must stick to a consistent routine. Trust me, I’m not perfect at sticking to one either. However, when I do slack off, I definitely notice it. Below are three tips on how you can stay consistent with your beauty regimen!

Tip #1 – Keep it pretty sis!

The last thing you want to do after a stressful day is to sit in front of a bland table for your skincare routine, or worse have to hunt for the products you wish to use. If your products are tucked in random places in your house, rest assured that it is only a matter of time before you give up on the entire process. So the first tip is to keep all your products and supplies organized together in one place. Perhaps you can keep your everyday go-to’s on your bathroom counter in a beautiful tray or on your vanity in a rotating cosmetic organizer. For products that you don’t use daily, i.e. masks or certain serums, try putting those in a cabinet or drawer using clear, acrylic containers. The key is to keep everything organized and readily accessible! If your products are clearly displayed beautifully and in an aesthetically pleasing way, you will use them more consistently.

Tip #2 – Set a reminder on your phone.

If you could remember everything, you would never need alarm clocks or even sticky notes. Try setting a reminder on your phone because sticking to a skincare routine is very much like cultivating a new habit. It takes a while for it to become a daily routine. A reminder will not only help you stay committed, but you will have something to stay accountable to.

Tip #3 – Basic is sometimes best.

There was a time that cleansing and moisturizing was all that you needed. Now there are so many amazing products and routines that it’s easy to purchase a bunch of items that you don’t really need. Chances are that you have more than a handful of products than you plan to use. If you want to stick to a routine, cut out the fancy stuff you’ve heard about, and commit to the basics! You have more chances at success if you keep your routine simple at first, rather than thinking of it as an elaborate procedure. Try committing to removing your makeup every night, cleansing, moisturizing, and applying sunscreen in the morning for the first couple of days. Then, add in an eye cream and serum. Once you’ve mastered that, add in toning and an exfoliation regimen. By this time, you’ve created a consistent routine. Congrats!

Remember, you can have the skin of your dreams by committing to a consistent skincare routine. Whether you want to test out a series of products or your dermatologist gave a few recommendations, these three tips will help you stick to a routine successfully!

This is a great post and tips, especially the one about organizing your products and keeping things simple. I try to keep my cleansers, toners, and moisturizers in the bathroom and if I want to do a mask I grab it off my shelf in my room. There are so many skincare products and I know I probably have too many 😩 but it’s hard to not buy anymore lol. I’m going to check out your Amazon store so I can find a organizer. Thank you! ♥️

I’m supposed to be on a no beauty spending regimen, but that’s not going too good! I understand the struggle..

Great tip! I also keep my makeup wipes in my nightstand as well.
