Lip Flip
So I know you’re probably wondering what is a lip flip? Welp, yesterday I tried my first Botox treatment. I got a lip flip, not to be confused with lip filler. There is a difference. Trust me I thought it was all the same too. But, I recently posted in my Instagram stories about my visit to get the lip flip done. I received tons of questions about it, so I figured I’d explain what it is and the difference between the two.
What is a Lip Flip?
A procedure where Botox is administered into the muscles surrounding the mouth, resulting in a more plump lip. The Botox basically relaxes the muscle around the mouth, and flips the lip outward. So it creates the illusion of a fuller lip by simply rolling your lip outward. If all goes well, your lips should look more shapely and defined. There’s essentially no downtime and results are usually seen within 1-2 days. The results last 6-8 weeks.

What is Lip Filler?
A procedure that increases the volume in your lips by injecting dermal fillers into the mouth. These include various types such as, Restylane, Juvederm, etc. You will be able to see immediate volume, but expect more bruising and swelling for a few days. The results last for about 3 months.
Average cost: $300-$2000
Your lips are already plump. Why did you get this done?
Quite frankly, I’m a beauty and cosmetics junkie and will try anything to look and feel my best! The main reason why I wanted the lip flip is so that my gums wouldn’t show so much when I smile. Typically, called a gummy smile. So the lip flip pushes the lip more outward, which hides your gums more when you smile. Was it a necessity? No! But, so far I am happy with the results and will more than likely continue getting it done.

Be sure to follow me on Instagram for before and after pics. Honestly, the results are so subtle to me. My boyfriend swears he notices a difference, but I don’t see a huge difference. Most people probably won’t notice until after I tell them what I got done.
